Terms of Service

CiteStart produces AI-assisted research starter reports. Given a research topic, it searches public academic databases, selects papers it judges most relevant, and assembles them into a reading list with summaries, a suggested reading order, trends, gaps, and next steps.

Reports are AI-generated starting points. They are not a substitute for your own reading, your supervisor's guidance, or professional academic advice.

• Verify every paper and claim before relying on it. Check that each paper exists, says what the summary says, and is appropriate for your work.
• We make no guarantee of completeness. A report will miss relevant papers, and the selection reflects what the databases return and how the model ranks it.
• Summaries are generated from paper abstracts and can contain errors or omissions.
• Citation counts, venues, and publication years come from third-party databases and may be out of date or incorrect.

Treat a report as a map of where to start reading, not as a finished literature review.

• A full report costs a one-time €15 per report. There is no subscription.
• Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, which acts as merchant of record. We never see or store your card details.
• You see a free preview before paying anything — including the field overview and the first papers — so you can judge the quality of a report before buying it.

Full refund within 14 days if any of the following apply:

• The report failed to generate correctly.
• The report was incomplete.
• The report did not match the topic you submitted.

To request a refund, email support@citestart.com with your report link. We do not require you to justify the request beyond identifying which of the above applies.

• Reports are for your personal academic use.
• Do not resell reports, or redistribute them as a product or service of your own.
• Sharing a report with your supervisor or research group is fine.

Report links stay available for 30 days after generation, after which the report is deleted automatically. Download the PDF if you want a permanent copy.

We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Report generation depends on third-party academic databases, which occasionally rate-limit or go down.
